I'd rather be able to just do a right click on the member in
RSE and be able to copy then go up to the local directory and
paste to my desktop as a text file without all the line
number stuff on the left. Makes doing a source compare a
pain in the arse since I only care about actual code differences.

Right click on the members to compare in RSE. Select <make available offline> or <Add to i project...>.
The files are in your workspace\youriprojectname. In the iprojects Navigator view you click right to compare the files.
