Like many others, Simon helped me off list. In my case, it was 5250
data stream issue.

His knowledge of the 5250 stream was amazing and all of his posts were
worthwhile reading.

I regret that I never got to meet him in person.

Simon, you will be missed.

a very virulent form of cancer and just didn't have the strength to sit at the
computer for more than a few minutes.

Sadly this was a battle he couldn't win and he died quietly on Tuesday. I am
just grateful that he had the strength to talk to Susan and myself for nearly
an hour last week when he spotted that we were on-line on Skye.

I'll miss his wit, his wisdom, and his forthright nature. He was a good friend
and colleague and a brilliant programmer.
