I too wish to say that Simon was a great help and resource to me as well as
many others in the industry. He was a shining star for sure.
Rest in Peace, Simon.. I wish I could have gotten to know you better.
Through archives your knowledge will live on forever and continue to help
others in years to come!

Simon and I communicated off-line several times. Usually when I heard onhe

I had noticed that he was "missing" from the lists and thought more than
once about emailing him. I regret that I did not follow-up on that
Even though we never met face-to-face, we met here, and he will bemissed.

Some of you may have noticed that Simon has not been frequenting the
ofat
late. Truth of the matter is that for the last few months he has been
fighting
a very virulent form of cancer and just didn't have the strength to sit
thelist
computer for more than a few minutes.
Sadly this was a battle he couldn't win and he died quietly on Tuesday. I
am
just grateful that he had the strength to talk to Susan and myself for
nearly
an hour last week when he spotted that we were on-line on Skye.
I'll miss his wit, his wisdom, and his forthright nature. He was a good
friend
and colleague and a brilliant programmer.
G'day mate - it was great knowing you.
