Sharon:
It is actually as easy as described. A couple of quick hint beyond what
has been discussed thus far.
1) Set up the HMC and get the console going on your system FIRST. That
is likely to be the hardest part since changing the console requires
some tinkering.
2) Make sure you get the RIO/HSL loops correct. Not getting that right
could cause performance troubles or the system may not work. You did
not say if there were any other chassis on the system. If not, make
sure the proper hardware in on the 525 to connect the loop in the first
place. If there are, there is a limit of 6 chassis on the loop.
3) The SPCN cables also need to be set up properly so study that.
It might be best if you have your IBM CE do the connections (you will
have to pay him) or a certified business partner.
One last thing. If you bring up your new LPAR and it gives you any
messages about wanting to add new disk units and such, STOP! You have
something configured wrong. If you stop at that point, you can correct
it without data loss, if you start the process to add the disk, it's
reload time.......

It was the 595 rack move that I was concerned with. I understand what
you mean about "point". Now I have a better feel for what needs to be
done.
Just in case, I intend to have two complete backups on hand.
