That suggests that it's recognizing SOME device, SOMEWHERE.
Case in point: I just looked at the Twinax devices on one of our boxes.
DSP05 through DSP08 (the four sides of my 3489) are showing as "VARY ON
PENDING"; the physical 3489 happens to be patched into another box.
Or not: I looked at our V6 box, which uses LAN Console; its DSP01 shows
"SIGNON DISPLAY" even though NOBODY currently has a LAN Console
connection to it (nor any other kind of iSeries Access connection; we
normally connect through our own TN5250 client).
