You could do that, but in that case I think you might want to simply add
the IFS directory to an SVN repository and manage the check in check out
to the IFS via a Windows client such as Tortoise.
Basically the answer is YES you can do that with SVN if you like :-)
I've been mainly focused on an iSeries source member approach since we
already manage Java source as I've described above where the Java
project/source is managed from a Windows or IFS directory. Only
difference is we usually don't store the source in the IFS. We work on
it in Eclipse/RDI/WDSC whatever and manage thru the Eclipse SVN plugins.
Might have to offer some SVN courses after this is all done as there are
lots of ways to manage source in SVN :-)
