Software pricing has undergone some significant changes as the platform
changes.
In the beginning it was mostly based on either the tier system per
machine (P02-P50) or was user based.
Then we got LPAR's so having multiple machines and per machine licenses
changed to per LPAR licenses.
Now we are seeing (thank you Larry Ellison/Oracle) pricing based not on
the tier system but based on processor type on a particular LPAR.
