Error sounds familiar, from Scott's web page:
If you are having trouble, receiving an error about "libstdc++.so.6"
that's causing p7zip to fail, please try installing version 4.1.1 of
the
GNU C Compiler. You can get a copy that works in PASE from the

I don't think I want to mess with recompiling.

This isn't about recompiling. When you install the compiler, you get the
libstd package as well, and THAT is what you need to have in order to fix
this. The thought of killing ants with M-80s comes to mind, but it is a
solution that works, and I don't have time to research to find a better
solution (if there is one).
