Do you have a CL program running at logon (or something like that) that is setting JAVA_HOME?

Aside from WRKENVVAR *SYS, there really isn't a system-defined way that JAVA_HOME would ever get set. So you must be setting it in code somewhere if you're not setting it by hand.
