- I upgrade IBMi OS when I want to and not based on widespread security
vulnerabilities.
= Because I choose to ignore all of the ptf cover letters that say
"Integrity".

- My integrated-with-the-OS database (DB2) never needs to be restarted, is
never corrupted, and is never unavailable - it just works. I am not a DB
admin nor do I need to be because DB2 on IBMi just works.
= Because I do not count the numerous individual objects that get
corrupted. I delete them and either let the system rebuild them or
restore them from a backup.

- I have two IBM i machines exposed to the internet and have never had to
be
concerned with them being infected by viruses, trojans, or other malicious
wares because of the object level security built into the IBMi operating
system.
= And I don't care if my users map a drive to them and get the nasties
that can be STORED on the i moved to their PC's. Not my problem.

- With the integrated job logs I am able to get a snapshot of issues of a
specific user/job should they arise.
= Unless some clown rewrites the item to be in PASE or some other crippled
environment that doesn't use a joblog.

But many of the points are excellent.

I know of people that liked the multiple subsystems used when hosting
multiple Domino servers and how it made it much easier to figure out which
server had which task.

The command line alternative available made it much easier to configure
multiple Domino servers. F9, change a couple of things, enter. Beat the
dickens out of clicking all the GUI from scratch every time. They had 30
servers to configure.

I like the control of job queues and how they can be used to control job
flow. Talk to a former i person who had to redo that on Linux or
elsewhere. They aren't happy.

The performance tracking, database tools and more of System i Navigator
are top notch!
