I'd also say this, if you are not using BRMS, or Tivoli or stuck with a
device like a 3576 that only supports random mode, why would you want it
in random mode versus sequential? But maybe the OP wants it that way just
for the potential overflow tape he has. Once he hits that tape what's he
going to do? Does he have enough empty slots to add in a weeks worth of
tapes at two a day? Does he change to a new drive? Does he only load a
days worth of tapes at a time?
