Rob,
Just because the name says TAPMLB02 doesn't mean they are using it
that way. If you are in as many shops a week as I, you learn that you can't
assume anything. We would expect that TAPMLB02 would be the MLB, but you
can't assume that. Nor does everyone on the list know the distinction
between an MLB and the device. They just know that the MLB is that damn
device I always have to vary off, but don't know anything more.
Just like you can't assume that the console will always be DSP01. I
have seen it called "IT" "THEONE" "KING" "MASTER" "CMNDER" (short for
commander) to name a few. I have seen tape drives called TAP01, but also
"T0" and "BACKUP". Tell me what type of device "BACKUP" would be? Is that
an MLB or a plain old tape drive? Just to my point, that you and I *can*
assume that TAPMLB02 is the MLB, but you know what happens when we
ASSUME...... In addition, there are many on the list who don't have the
knowledge and experience that you have on the i, so sometimes explaining
things a little more helps the newbies on the list. And let me point out, I
may not be a newbie, but I certainly learn things from the members of the
list EVERY day.
JMHO,
Pete

No assumption made, device name is TAPMLB02. That clears it up right
there, it IS in random mode.
