The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

I'm wondering if it might be better to sell it outright now, while it is
still relevant, and worth a little more money, as opposed to waiting until
V6R1 is reaching end of life and I can no longer upgrade it.
The 9405-520's can run V7R1. I'm really really sure of that :)
If I sold it, I could lease a newer box.but that's not the same as owning
one.
Problem is, if you buy a new box now you're basically getting old tech
- Power 6. And it will be quite a bit of time till Power 7 trickles
down to the machines restricted to a single core.
Do you need more power? Depending on your workload and the current
configuration of the 520 you have, you might want to consider buying a
few more disks and a RAID controller with cache - you can get these
used. They still have insane prices, but they're less insane than
IBM's list prices.
