Anyone notice this lovely treat when trying to install a system i access
for windows service pack?

Interestingly, up until now they did not install the redist - they
packaged the libraries themselves.

Of course, this means that existing install of the System i Access
will have the vulnerable libraries installed, but will not trigger the
Microsoft security update - since the redist package isn't installed.
So i had to go out, actually push out packages which install the
proper redists (of course the newer ones with the security update
preapplied) and then install newer System i Access service packs.

Gotta love IBM's quality engineering.
