Hi Konrad -

If your update policy is set to Operating System you can see supported
firmware levels and order firmware here:

http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.nsf/1ab17d750577b34986256b12007d165

If your update policy is set to HMC you can see supported firmware
levels, and download or order firmware here:

http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.nsf/ibmscdirect/e58d7bbf0eac9a27862

For the 8203-E4A the current Fixpack is EL340_101_039, available for
download only. You can order EL340_095_039 on CD.

We just installed an 8204-E8A this weekend. The installed firmware was
EL340_075_039. After installing the hardware we installed EL340_095_039
non-disruptively (is that a word?) using the HMC. I'm not sure how it
works on O/S managed systems, but on an HMC managed system I don't think
that EL340_061_039 --> EL340_101_039 would be disruptive, because the
last three digits are equal.

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Subject: Sorting out firmware levels for the 8204-E3A?? Software 320
hardware340?

Had a false error this morning from the firmware according to IBM. They
recommended to download and apply the latest firmware MH01192, a
disruptive change.

Below it shows our OS firmware level different than the hardware
firmware but the hardware level is active.
Not only that they are different versions, one 320 the other 340!
Can anyone help on what needs to be done? How do I get the software
level the same as the hardware level and do I need to come up to the
340_101 level? Any great instructions? The IBM website has all sorts of
different info all over the place.

Note after going through the wizard it says that no change is necessary.

This is what the firmware status says:
