We have a 3576 aka TS3310 We have the base L5B and one expansion E9U. We
have 6 physical drives in it. They are all fiber attached. Each drive
has a single fiber port. We are using an older IBM 2109-F16 switch that
we are thinking of upgrading. Some of the drives are dedicated to a
particular lpar. Others are shared between lpar. The shared ones are
never varied off, moved or whatever between lpars - they just work. Some
are shared between three or more lpars. (Yes, you do have to time your
backups carefully.) We originally set this up with a consultant without
BRMS. And you're going to love this - every third statement must have
been "well, with BRMS we would..." But it can be done without it BRMS if
you this swear your backups must be this unique method.
