What other ways can I share the tape library between two partitions?
I don't know all the details, but if i remember correctly if you're on
current Power 6 hardware and get a current 8 Gigabit FC Adapter, it
can be shared between two partitions without the need for for an FC
Switch, similar to the HEA for Ethernet.
Another option would be to share at the Library level, not at the
Drive level. This is the way we usually deploy it for customers - buy
a library with one tape drive per partition. The TS3100 supports up to
two half-height LTO4 drives - the TS3200 supports up to four
half-height drives or 2 full size drives. The half-height drives are a
bit slower.
