12 disks. I'm not sure of the RAID or CPU feature. But can those really be the bottleneck? It took 12 1/2 hours to transfer 12GB of data. Even a single disk can perform better than that. This system wasn't doing anything else all night.

Other issues could be a mismatched duplex setting - ensure that both
the switch and the ethernet line description are configured the same
(in most environments, *AUTO/*AUTO is the way to go).

I have *AUTO/*AUTO and it is currently at 100M and *FULL which matches the hardware capability.
