Scott, grab your Manual CD Drive Opening Tool (paperclip) and insert it in
the small hole inthe front of the drive. That will release it. Pop your CD
out and then close and try open it via the button and see what happens.

Before I place a hardware call (and potentially embarrass myself) I wanted
to ask if anyone knows any reason they system would keep me from opening
the CD drive.

I just powered down the system and then *was* able to open the CD drive
door and remove the CD that was in there from weeks ago. But when I
brought the system back up I am where I was before; the drive light will
blink a couple times but the door will not open.

Does this sound like a hardware problem, or is there some locking
that might be keeping me from opening the door?

(The last time I used the CD drive (a few weeks ago) I was
about image catalogs. Possibly anything related to that that would
an IPL)?
