DSPLOG is my main source of information. From my scribbled notes, ...
05:34:31 PWRDWNSYS issued, restart=(*YES *FULL).
05:35:10 .../QSYS/QSYSARB3 ended
09:12:03 Unattended IPL in process
There is nothing in the log between "QSYSARB3 ended" and "Unattended
IPL".

The IPL after nine o'clock started during a telephone call from the
system opterator. He said the power light was flashing slowly. I told
him to "push the white button", and the light started flashing faster.

What should I look for in the BRMS joblog? (I have to petition the
customer for each access to the machine.)

Thanks,
Terry.

The 05:34:31 tells us it really was issued with a restart... Were PTFs scheduled to be applied? Try Go LICPGM, OPT# 50 and put a start time in just before the powerdown cmd say 05:30 and see if it shows any thing. I've had 520's and 525's that didn't come backup when Server Firmware go applied? If you can get access to SST go look at the VLOGs by
1. Start a service tool 5. Licensed Internal Code log 1. Select entries from the Licensed Internal Code (LIC) log Provide BOTH VALID START and END DATE and TIMEs
Press enter and see what pops up

Anyone else have any ideas for Terry ?
