Hey all, I'm in a discussion on how to accomplish the subject line,
and I think I have a solution, but might have some holes in my logic.

the idea is to create several virtual CD images (products, versions,
etc), store them on a web server and allow customer to download via
browser to their PCs, transfer the image to the sys i, load into a
local virtual optical device and execute a LODRUN.

now for the gaps in my knowlege: what are the different ways / best
way to move the image file to an sys i share so that it can be loaded
into the optical catalog with the least muss and fuss for a non-techie
user?

I'm assuming the customer might not have client access, their sys i
ftp server is inactive or locked behind a firewall, and they may not
have network file sharing on the IFS.

my best thought is to have them ftp it from their PC to the sys i via
DOS command line,

any other ideas?
