Hi, Eric:

I recommend "Introduction to IBM i and Rational Developer i" by Robert W. Janson. See:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0966422155/ref=cm_cmu_up_thanks_hdr

Robert Janson is a Professor at Florida Community College at Jacksonville. Now in its 5th edition, it has been used for teaching Introductory AS/400 and iSeries courses for a number of years. It covers pretty much everything from the basic OS/400 concepts such as libraries, objects, files and members, through most of the main development languages and tools, including DFU, PDM, SEU, SDA, DDS, CL, RPG, Query/400, SQL, iSeries (Client) Access, System Debugger, iSeries (Operations) Navigator, and in recent editions, includes chapters on WDSCi and RDi. 540 large pages (approx. 8.5" x 11"), with many full-color illustrations.

In this economy, you can save money by ordering direct from the publisher -- send a check for US $65 payable to "Janson Industries" -- mail to:

Janson Industries
2905 Gerona Drive W.
Jacksonville, FL 32246

Be sure to include the mailing address where you want the book shipped to.
