I know what you're trying to do. I was trying to do something similar, so I called IBM and they wanted me to do the copy of the entire disk group,
shut the system back down and physically swap the drives into the same location as the current load source disk group. I did that and had a whole
slew of problems with a couple of the disks in separate raid 5 stripes dropping out and they never came back. Thank goodness it was two disks in TWO
separate raid groups. I don't see why this wouldn't work. If you shut the machine down completely and make the new load source location change
under the HMC. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't boot. You can then revert back to you current setup with the original load source. Just
make sure you pull your original load source group prior to reboot. What it sounds like is that you are removing the 35G drives completely and
replacing them with only 4 x141G drives. Is that correct. If so, this could be fairly easy.

I'm moving data and load source from 12 35GB drives to 4 141GB drives in a different CEC. I will need to add the disk to the ASP filled with the other
141GB drives after this 'copy disk' operation.
I have to move the load source from a 35GB disk to a 141GB using 'copy disk unit data' under DST. The final result will be the disk is attached to a
different IOP. I can use HMC to set this new IOP as my load source and IPL using the new disk and it should work. Has anyone done this?
