Couple of alternatives come to mind:

1) CREATE ALIAS QTEMP/FILEA FOR MYLIB/FILEA (MEMBERB)
select * from qtemp/fileA

2) CALL QCMDEXC('OVRDBF FILE(FILEA) TOFILE(FILEA) MBR(MEMBERB)',45)
select * from fileA

Of course, once done, you ought to clean up after this (DROP ALIAS or
DLTOVR).
