Take a look at the instructions for "Checking Component Journals" and "Tracking Undelivered E-mail" in the Information Center. They may provide some clues as what's happening.

Situation on a customer box:

Supposedly, our application is sending an email.

QMSF and the SMTP jobs are all running.

The IFS file for the message appears and disappears, as expected.

Yet nothing seems to be going anywhere.

I tried killing and restarting QMSF (with MSGOPT *RESET); no change. The joblog for one of the QMSF jobs shows a failure to find an IFS file with the same naming convention we use for messages, but NOT one of the ones we tried to send.

Any idea what could be throwing the outgoing messages into the bit-bucket?
