Note that HPT (Host Print Tranform) will transform an overlay into HPCL
or many of the other printer streams. So your printer does not need to
be AFPDS capable, per se.

If your printer is not AFPDS capable, then the overlay will not
print.
You may need to change your printer definition on your System i.
