Agreed Vern... It performs so poorly as to be practically unusable. IMO,
that's a pretty serious problem when it's the primary source of info for
users when researching, administering, and supporting V6R1. In fact...
when working with optical support they gave me the Infocenter link and the
text to search for to read the specifics of the updated media support for
DVD burning in V6R1. It's now an hour later and I still can't get to the
info. Guess i'll try again some other day.

Was on the V6R1 Infocenter today - just horrible.
How do IBM justify a complete rewrite of IC every release? The cost has
to be exorbitant. Better applied to development tools that can be had
for less. I just read something by a Joel Spolsky - about complementary
products that help sell a product - if complementary products get
cheaper, you sell more of your main item. In this case, development
tools are complementary to the box - make it easier and cheaper to
develop and you'll sell more boxes. That was the secret of the original
AS/400, right? All the applications?
OK - rant is over!

I'm all for online documentation... prefer it actually.
But WOW is the Infocenter a bad performer most times that I try to use
it... what the heck are they running that site on hardware/bandwidth
wise?
