Many HP printers have an internal timeout value that should be increased.
Default might be as little as 30 seconds. I usually chg to the max amt,
and that seems to fix problem w/large reports.

Subject: V5R4 and SNMP printers

I have a very old HP 1000Q line matrix printer that has been working fine from a 170 with V4R5. We
have upgraded to a 515 with V5R4, and now while the printer works, the writer job drops on large
printouts. The only thing I can see in the job log is a message concerning SNMP not being able to
detect that the device is a printer, or high traffic on the network. Has anyone had issues with SNMP
printers and V5R4? This thing only supports SNMP and LPR. Problem with LPR is that it doesn't stop
when the form type changes.
