I was in hopes of a simple/obvious oversight on my part, but no such luck...

Here are all the details:
* V6R1 with latest cume, latest groups as of the beginning of the month.
* Connecting to a 9406-520
* The system sits for a long time on C6004031 (searching for console) for a
long time before hanging on A6005008 (no console found).
* The original PC was Vista, and assuming it was the problem I also tried
from XP Pro with the same results.
* This is not a new machine, but the hard drives are new.
* The console adapter is set to an IP on our regular network

I am thinking it is a matter of the embedded ethernet not getting enabled.
I will give that a go today. I had used 65+21 to force the lan console
(which did not work), but I had not gone as far as the 'enable' bit.

Thanks for the ideas,
Dave
