Is it an option to process the IFS file through some kind of brute force
array/string approach ? Since the file is pretty simple you may be able to
receive the file into the IFS and process it that way.

If it was me I think I'd use Scott's parser but if this avoids some hoops it
might be worth considering.

possibly, and I've used the c apis to process ifs stream files before
and still have all my examples examples, but it's been a long time.

This is just a tiny project and I'm loath to spend more than a day or
two on this particular piece. If I can't find another decent
alternative, I'll probably just bite the bullet and roll my own on my
own time, just for the fun of it.

I guess I was just hoping it would all be magic!
