Adam,

Most devices like the iPrism allow you to restrict availability based on the user.

Thus, most devices have some means to authenticate the user trying to access the web. In a windows
network, it's common for Active Directory authentication to be use.

Obviously, the System I can't do that, (although I suppose since the System I does support Kerberos,
which is the tech behind Windows Active Directory, you could get it to work. But you'd have to modify
HTTPAPI to work like that.)

What you need to do have the iPrism configured so that it doesn't block packets from your System I to
the web site you need access to.

Bill, what it is, I am using the network DNS address that I added to the I
DNS name table.

But why does it block the RPG program from getting to these sites, when
from my PC I can get there with no problems?

BIll, I am using some code that already does this gathering of data,

This
IPRISM is preventing me from accessing this web site.

My wish list is now perhaps someone on board has some knowledge how to
circumvent this IPRISM problem.

It'd be pretty easy to put in an override, you just need to know who has
the authority to do it. Here's a manual for a random unit that I picked
from their site:
http://www.stbernard.com/docs/guide/iPrism_admin_6-0.pdf

Chapter 12 explains how to manually block or unblock websites.
