Anne,

I'm sure you just "fat fingered" it, but that was 1988.

By the way, just got off of a webinar with Dr. Frank discussing the future of the IBM i. He's prejudiced, of course (and has a right to be), but he was pretty upbeat. He, too, mentioned, as Neil did, that this year is also the 30th anniversary of the S/38. He, also, said that he started in 1968 working on the follow on to the System/3 - which wasn't even released until 1969. That was the S/38, of course.

Subject: Happy Birthday to the AS/400, iSeries, System i, IBM i

I'm two days behind in reading midrange-l....just read a post (6/17)
with a comment about the birthday celebrating the "name" AS/400.

It's the technology, how it has evolved, and what it has become that we
celebrate! It is the product and it's capabilities that we celebrate.
Not the name!

There will be a celebration in Rochester and the appropriate IBM AS/400
thru IBM i executives will be on hand to help celebrate.

I'd love to see a list of what you think are the coolest changes in this
product since it was announced in Toronto at COMMON in 1998.

.....Anne
