The name is really Operations Console. You can have Lan Attached or Direct
(Serial) attached connection, I usually just say Lan Console when I am
referring to Operations Console Lan Attached. If I was IBM, I could
probably get away with getting this down to one letter ;)
IBM has issued a statement of direction that the Serial Direct attached will
no longer be supported after the release following V6R1. Another reason,
why we are getting all our customers to go to Lan Attached.
You are correct, they both use PC Support, ops I mean Client Access, ops
iSeries Access, ....... is the name now i Access? Ha ha ha....

How does a LAN console differ from Ops console ?
Just an IP vs Serial connection ?
Are they part of the same iSeries Access software or whatever IBM calls
it now ?
