I agree with you, John Jones. They really have a lot of nerve to ask for my
name, email address, Company name, street address, city and state, and the
size of my company.
Those questions are way too invasive and personal!
They should willingly provide webcast and not contact me aftwards.

They should follow the business model that your company's sales and
marketing team uses. Please tell us how your sales and marketing team works
differently. Does your team wait for the phone to ring from people
desperate to buy your product?

No thanks.

1. It's not an IBM webcast (although IBM is the sponsor). Minor issue.
2. They ask for way too much info about the viewer. Big issue to me.
As an information security professional I detest disclosing information
about my employer or myself when it is not necessary. And I guess
you're out of luck if your company doesn't have a web site. Funny, I
didn't think that was a business requirement.
3. ON24's privacy policy sounds OK but has the standard 'subject to
change without telling you' clause which literally makes it worthless.
There's no mention or privacy policy for System i Network, Penton, IBM,
or the unnamed affiliates. This is the deal killer. Your contact info
absolutely will be used by System i Network (you have to agree to be
contacted) and can be used by the other named and who knows what unnamed
companies.

Be prepared to get more junk mail & spam. And to have your contact info
sold.

I'll make do reading the actual announcement letters, articles available
without giving my life away, and talking to my VAR.
