Would that be necessary if the printer was connected to a PC? I thought
I could just get a printer that's not host-based and is supported by
host print transform on the System i. I guess I could leave the
host-based printer in place and force the person to print all of their
System i reports to the high volume networked printer on the other side
of their cube, but that would mean they have to get up and walk 5 steps.
Thanks,
Griz

Thanks Scott.
We get what we pay for I guess. As interesting as what you explained
sounds, I think I would only end up hating the printer more than I
already do. So I think we'll just get a different printer.

DANGER WILL ROGERS:

We bought a "NETWORK" based printer to avoid these problems. MAKE sure
that it is truly a network printer (assuming that is what you want)
because there are GDI based network printers that expect the brains to
be in the M/S Windows systems that will talk to it (everyone knows that
only M/S Windows systems are networked...).
