I've actually looked into that... however, there are limitations to the ARD interface. i.e. there are things you can't do through an ARD... and the ARD programming is not trivial.

By calling the JDBC drivers from RPG, you can use all of the capabilities of the databasae, without the limitations of ARD -- so that's the direction I decided to go. I've written a bunch of articles about it, let me know if you'd like me to post the links (though, they've been posted here a few times already.) I'll also be presenting on the subject at COMMON next week.

I use this tool to let my RPG programs interface with my MySQL database (exactly as you say... I have a web site built on FreeBSD, Apache, MySQL and PHP... FAMP, I guess).
