Subject: Re: Which Desktop best for i5/OS Connectivity

And since it's a closed system (access to i5/OS), IBM has total
control over the interfaces (and therefore products) that will be
used. So, if Rational doesn't build the interfaces/programs to access
i5/OS from Linux or Windows...well, I guess that will tell us
something about direction, won't it?

Is it really? I was under the impression that WDSCi and RDi used the standard i5/OS interfaces which
are publically documented.

Anybody know for sure?

So we as a community could write our own...but I'm guessing we won't. I'd love to be involved in such
a project, my wife, 21 mo old and 1 mo old might not appreciate it though. ;)
