I was up there in the late 90's or very early 2001 for the same thing. User
Centered Design team it was called (still have the shirt) :-)

And I too use Google and the site:ibm.com deal.

In 2003 (IIRC) I was a participant in a Rochester focus group tasked with
"improving" the Information Center. One thing that I noted during our
discussions was that I had basically given up on using the Info Center
search function.

I still mostly use Google to search for AS/400 - iSeries - System i stuff,
specifying site:ibm.com in the search, and when necessary I used the
advanced search page, specifying in the "at least one of the words" box the
words AS/400, iSeries, and "System i" to refine my searches.
