Not exactly. Symbolic links can be used to invoke QSYS programs within the "Unix-like" QShell environment. I/O is still limited to stream file support, and I use the stream file APIs to access stdin and stdout to pass parameters. In general, I've seen this used in two ways: either to invoke business logic written in RPG or COBOL, or to execute ILE C programs (which know all about stdin and stdout).

So, Keith, are you saying that I can use QSHELL to CALL '/home/mydir/myreallylongprogramname' and it will pull up the BPCS order entry screen?
