i5/OS does not show long sql procedure names to ODBC clients like
Crystal Reports. it takes extra time to match up the meaningful long
report name with the alphabet soup short i5/OS procedure name. My
experience, working every day with SQL and RPG, is that having to
support two sets of names is extra work that complicates things. ( RPG
programmers are as unwilling to use SQL views and stored procedures as
they are to use ILE service programs )
