The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Think "DataCentre" and the rack space and floor space this will save. (Yeah,
I know, ignore power and cooling requirements at the same time)
I do think being able to use "cheap" SAN has some obvious benefits but as
with many features the entry cost to obtain the savings will be significant.
I did mean to say earlier that some of the functions available in SANS are
available on i5/os. In particular he mentioned Geographic Mirroring
otherwise known as Cross Site Mirroring.
Ironically, lot of the SAN technology pitches I see seem to be aimed at
making the SAN storage provide the same benefits as single level iSeries
storage does...

Or one other scenario.
c)
Buy a blade center.
Buy a blade for i5.
Buy a SAN (and related equipment)
vs
d) Buy a 515, 520 or 525.
Meaning, if you didn't already have a SAN, why would you go for C vs D? As
a way of getting in a SAN and blaming the high expense on running the
System i based application?
