Good question.
On the one hand hardly anyone goes to those conferences with hardware on
the brain so, even though the hardware is pretty much the same between i
and p the education is nothing alike.
On the other hand, I am sure the use of Linux lpars on i's have gone up.
We're going to be creating another Linux lpar. Currently the knowledge of
Linux here is next to nil and maybe there would be some overlap.
I suppose the i person and the p person sharing a room might also cut
expenses. But let me guess, no one does that anymore because of liability
concerns: "You chose ... to go just because he's a man!" "Well, sending
you and having you share a room with ... might have upset his wife."
