How do most people save their QHST* files these days? As part of the nightly/weekly/monthly backups or as a separate operation altogether? The client had some problems doing root cause analysis because of the sheer number of log files and subsequently noticed that there was an "uneven" backup strategy for these same files.
We recently went to all machines and set the QHSTLOGSIZ system value to *DAILY in order to reduce the number of log files on the less active systems, which of course didn't matter on the big honkers hit that 10,000,000 records every 60 - 90 minutes.
