I'm very enthusiastic about Pentaho. We have been looking at it, but we are undecided. It seems to be a bit shaky and immature, but that must be just me.
The end-user query facility was a bit disappointing, though, since it does not allow calculated fields, and I'm not sure if it allows joins. Obviously we could create views to provide that, but it was our hope that users could get the functionality provided by the green screen query. Other than that, we were impressed by the OLAP functionality and the reporting and graphing capabilities.
The best of all is the price, of course.
Still, we are debating about Web Query and other options.

On a related note, has anyone looked at Pentaho as a BI soulution for System i?
http://www.pentaho.com/products/
Pentaho includes the following open source modules:
Mondrian - Open Source OLAP Server
JFreeReport - Open Source Reporting
Kettle - Open Source Data Integration (ETL)
Pentaho - Comprehensive Open Source BI Suite
Weka - Open Source Data Mining
Just wondering if anyone has run this on our platform....
Eric
