I think you are thinking of someone else. And, in any case, I have learned quite a bit from Dave (and the other, too!). In fact, I'm off for two weeks at Christmas, and I've got a note to read (and hopefully learn) the Rexx manual, which Dave is so high on. I've already skimmed it and decided that a more in depth reading would be worthwhile.

I attended COMMON for years (still do) while working on a S/34/36 when the only technical sessions were on the AS/400. I was able to port several of the concepts to a system that, supposedly, couldn't do them (such as subfiles). The point being that there is much to be learned. I used to think that the S/36 was a heck of a system, and it was - for its day. The i5 is at the stage that it is because people said, "Why can't it do...?"
