As to being a feature you would pay for, then why not buy from the SCM
vendors who's focus is on making development on System i more productive?

Because they all want more than I am willing to pay for. At my previous
employer I did the research for the SCM software we were going to use moving
forward. None of them had a pricepoint for a small need (ranged from $30k
to $150k). But they again, they all had WAY more features than what I
required.

I was thinking if IBM had WDSC RPG SVN source control for $250/seat it would
fly off the shelves. Cheap enough for the small shops, and an easy sell for
the bigger shops (i.e. 30 developers x $250 = $7500). Of course they need
to make it shopping cart buyable so they can easily sell it and make a solid
profit. But then again, IBM has never been a big fan of low hanging fruit
(though George Farr did mention pricing similar to this for certain
features).
