Marty,
QU1 is the IBM Query Product - STRQRY
ST1 is the IBM SQL & Query Manager Query - STRSQL
QU2 is the new IBM offering that will allow Web Access for queries. This product has just recently been released to mixed reviews.

Subject: QU1, QU2, ST1, etc.

I was re-reading the discussion from about a month ago regarding
5733-QU2 and trying to figure out if QU2 is something we need. I am not
sure about several related products.

I am pretty sure that ST1 is where the STRQRY command comes from and I
believe the ST1 product is where we get the ability to put SQL in our
application programs, COBOL, RPG, CRTSQLCBL, etc.

I'm not sure where the STRSQL command comes from. Is this also part of
ST1?

If STRSQL and STRQRY are both included in ST1, then what exactly is QU1?
(I've read the description in the iSeries handbook and it did not help)

QU2 - This is a new tool that will let someone with a web browser access
data on their System i, run queries, generate reports, that sort of
thing?

As you can see, I am a little confused about exactly what functionality
comes from which product. I inherited machines with QU1 and ST1
installed and have been continuing to order them ever since, so I never
had the experience of installing them and seeing what great new
functions came with each one.

Thanks,
-Marty
