The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.

Yeah. That means that i5/OS and the System i needs to be improved in

Improved how?
increase pointer size to 32 bytes. that would break the 16meg barrier
and obviate the need for teraspace.
long object names. I am coding sql procedures lately for consumption
by crystal reports on the client side. even when I assign a long
procedure name, it is the 10 char specific name which shows up on the
CR side. So in crystal I have long and descriptive report names, but
short, confusing sql procedure names. Short names are the worst
feature of the i5.
get rid of ebcdic.
the service program signature violation should not occur in an age
with such fast processors.
ILE needs to support garbage collection and object references.
the system is way too underpowered. yesterday we were working with
the support rep of a forecasting package. He could not believe it took
4 hrs for their update job to run on the client's 520. He said it
runs much faster on oracle and sql server boxes.
