Agreed. But let's start being clear here: as soon as you no longer
limited
user access to green screen applications with no command line -- whether
through ODBC or FTP or anything else -- you HAD to apply object
authority.
And really, you should have been doing it all along.
But this caveat is true for all systems not just i5/OS!

Windows and *nix apps CAN be written using techniques either similar to or
analagous to those that can be used in i5/OS. So, this can be a valid
statement only if you accept it as valid for all systems.
