What ticks me off personallyare the facts that:

1. Both the presentation by a BP and IBM here in Cincy said explicitly
"SWMA is free the first year", no mention of the string that if you already
have QU1 then QU2 SWMA is only free for 90 days.

2. I had 2 different BP's quote on getting the base product, OLAP, Active
Reports and 2 developer workbench seats AND what the extra SWMA costs would
for all over and above our current one for the next 3 years. BOTH quoted no
SWMA increase for a year for the QU2 product OR any of the extras we
ordered.

3. The BP we put the order in with came back today and said since your SWMA
expires next month for your system and your SWMA for the QU2 product at the
same time (based on our receipt date its been 30 days, not counting its
still sitting in its shrink wrap waiting for me to install cumes, etc before
I install it) ends then too since it only comes with 30 days of free SWMA.

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Joe,

It is so. What makes you think otherwise?

If you have QU1 and you have SWMA and you are on V5R4 then you get QU2
Free by asking your BP for it.
If you have QU1 and you have SWMA and you are on V5R3 then you get QU2
Free with your upgrade to V5R4 which is also Free.

In either case you get a base number of named users that is determined
by your Pnn software group. Above that you pay money but you DO get QU2
and the base named users for free. Period.

If you have QU1, then getting QU2 is what they are calling an
"upgrade".

As long as they don't call it free, I'm good to go. I just heard from
several people that QU2 is "free" for people with QU1, and that just
ain't
so.
